BIOGRAPHY:

Merkl was born to an unknown elven couple in the Eastern Territories, it is inknown to him what they were doing there but they may have been

settlers or even wanderers, but before his second birthday the party that they were in were attacked, and everyone killed. Merkl however had been hidden just before the attack and so survived until the site of the atrocity was discovered 2 days leter by a band of travelling performers. He was adopted by them and brought into their fold. As he grew he picked up the skills of a juggler, being not too bad with his hands, and by the

time he was 14 he was joining in some of the acts, and by the time he was 16 he had managed to get journeyman marks in juggling. Rizoel also tried to mould Merkl into some semblance of a gentleman, and being young Merkl vresisted every step of the way, wondering why he was sometimes writing with chalk on a board, when the others his age were out tumbling and juggling and knife throwing.

The Blackpool Troupe has been around for many years, being lead by Rizoel Inindri, a human westerner well trained as a bard, even though he is reaching 50 now, was the one mainly responsible for the raising of Merkl, teaching to read and write plus a few other niceties not usually bothered with by performers. Rizoel was also a strongly religious man, before every meal all the troupe would give thanks to the gods, and every year when their passage takes them that way, stops in Haven and donates to the Church of Light whatever money was spare from the years performances.

The Blackpool Troupe wanders the Eastern Territories Amazing and stupefying people with their acts of bravery and skill, with small plays to keep both child and adult amused, they do a circuit that roughly takes 1 year and in that time the only town they avoid is Kaash, and are often looked for in Llorn, where the Mercanaries enjoy a bit of fun and laughter.
