Hail and well met my new friend, Master Mustrum,
This is the first of many missives to you, to which I hope it finds you in good health and spirits. These last few days have been nothing short of life changing. Not the least of which becoming a Demigod of Oaths & Vows and then winning the election of the first institution that treated me as a person rather than a monster.
I spent the morning till Highsun with Master Wesvon and Mistress Charolyn going over the process they probably hoped to never use for some time. I was indoctrinated into the office I now hold and many questions got answered and raised further ones. They told me about everyone being locked in till the 23rd of Grekar to prevent sore attitudes from launching a coup of some form or fashion.
I had to admit that walking into my new office was bittersweet and maybe I was being to sentimental, however, I didn’t care. I had a brief set of messages sent to all of my friends in CrIsis and Master Rincewind for a dinner with me that night. I tried to make it clear about making errant promises in front of Rincewind. I was also able to fulfill that law I made by accident by having everyone sign his books. Over the evening my friends came and went about other interests they had within the arcane tower. I took the time to talk with Master Rincewind well into the night. I had only one request about our conversation was to keep the topics about the Tri-Arcanum and/or the tower itself. He was very accommodating and I found out the hard way I am not a pipe smoker. He laughed so hard he fell out of his chair citing the word NEWB! Sigh.
Frankly, I am no longer surprised why the other guilds look more aesthetically pleasing to the eye than ours, Master Wesvon is a bigger whore than the late Master Overkill on a drunken binge! I thought Mistress Charolyn was poking fun at the leader of the Granted until I saw how much some of his parties cost! Oh! MY! Osiris! Turns our I won’t be bringing up my new job when I visit my friends in Masters: Hasselthon & Fraevian in Sekti-Abtu. It would seem Master Wesvon slept with Hasselthon’s wife and to say he dislikes him the way you feel about Greminor Lector I believe would be accurate.
This day was spent going over how I wanted to govern my branch of the Tri-Arcanum Guild. You know I upheld our agreed points on education, but I want you to let me know if you find a change or improvement you want to make. I have no reason not to trust your judgment in this regard so I am just wishing to be kept abreast of any modifications to the curriculum.
Knowing what I do of Master Dream, when he mentioned an alchemist he was fond of I knew I had to meet such a person of character. I learned to not summon people to my office because of my predecessors’ proclivity for making troublemakers disappear after such a meeting. Poor Master Alchemist: Thurweard Getor believed such a fate somehow was in store for him as well. Luckily my reputation (for better or worse) came before me and a few inquiries put him at ease. We had a rather pleasant discussion regarding a wand that deals with shape changers. I truly enjoyed finding out about the story of Rod Rambler and a lightning bolt misfire from our late Master Kel-ed.
After that I had the meeting with Master Elminster asking him to be your second, and my third. He said it would take three or four decades to train his apprentice to be his successor. The information about his change in relationship status was very useful in helping to sway him to our administration. Oh when the topic of the 208 goblins in our employ can you clarify whether or not they are slaves or actually employed by us?
Another point is when I know I will be out of the tower I will leave my door at the highest warding level. While I am gone please get with Master Gwydion and I want a list of the 218 rune weapons he is studying. He tried to make a direct threat when he learned Isis’ Seeker was the one that felled his speech. I made it clear if he wanted to keep his job that my friend was “Off Limits.” He seemed to appreciate a backbone in his leader so lets remind him in a polite way this is a job for the guild.
I also made sure to clarify the discussion we had regarding the “Hawk” eats “Magic Pigeon” spell to the rest of CrIsis. Clearly brought about by one of the Dark Gods to their followers. Thank you again for the information it answered a lot of questions my friends were stumbling upon.
In the evening on the way to attended a ceremony honoring Khonsu. I was stopped by one of the Weaver Goblins about a guest at the door, the Captain of the Guard of the City of Wisdom. I left and caught up later after learning that the good Father and Master Ursus created quite the stir because my Werebear friend considered himself above the law of the city.
Here’s where it gets weird.
I spoke to the Captain and promised him that after the ceremony I would bring them forward. He countered with bringing them forward at dawn. I told him that act was most generous and if I could not produce them for whatever reason I would hand myself over and take whatever punishment was to handed over. I swore upon being a member of the Pantheon of Ra and God of Oaths and Vows. This was acceptable and even the other guild members clapped after the guard had left.
The ceremony was nice and we had a good turn out. Maybe even got the God of the Moon a follower or two. After the ceremony I laid into both of them about the issue. Then we were teleported into a divine time bubble of Apis’ making. Father Indaris and Master Dream assured me we would be back in time for the dawn meeting on the 24th of Grekar. However, we have a month to take care of an issue I will detail in another missive so it can show up in the Books of CrIsis proper.
That should cover it for now.

This will be a pretty short letter in the books if all issues regarding operations of the guild are omitted. As the head of the Weavers isn’t anything Xerx’ses does now technically considered guild business?
I would just like to point out that Ursus doesn’t consider himself ABOVE THE LAW, He was just ignorant of the law. While not a defense, he does consider that less offensive. OF course what does the giant oaf know, right?
Well we have got time in the Apis time bubble. Looks like Ursus may have time to learn the art of communication. I look forward to it.
It has taken Ursus 95 years to learn to communicate as well as he does now. What’s he gonna learn in a month, without electrodes connected to his berries.
Xerx’ses dances lighting across his hand grinning, “You were saying?”
Then begins laughing, “I had you! The look on your face!”
