Campaign of the Month: April 2012
A table-top, pen and paper game is a commitment. We take that commitment seriously. When people do not show up, the game suffers. Real life happens, so we do not expect perfect attendance, but we do expect people to show up at least 75% of the time.
Attendance will be tracked. Here is how it benefits the players, and the system.
The goal is 75% on-time attendance, with on-time being within 10 minutes of start. The time period measured will be over 8 sessions. On-time & attending 1 point. Attending but up to an hour late is 3/4 point, 1-2 hours late is 1/2 point, more than 2 hours late is 1/4 point. Points will be rounded up for reward earnings, so 6 1/2=7 for rewards, except for an 8. 7 3/4 will be counted as an 8, but 7 1/2 will be a 7.
Attendance rules changed as of 5/9/15. There were too many luck points! The new award for the next 8 sessions is cutting luck points in half- 4 luck points awarded, but still add 1 luck point for any points above 8 (from MVP’s).
The GM deserves luck points- he should get 4 total, for each attendance period.
Also, only 2 luck points should be spent each session/player. This includes loans.
Ace in the hole will be changed to everyone in group doing logs 4 sessions in a row as a compromise.
After each session we will vote for an MVP. Each MVP win gives the PC 2500 xp and an attendance point. If someone is a substitute GM for that night, they automatically get an MVP win.
Out of 8 sessions:
6 Attendance points: 1000 xp
7 Attendance points: 4000 xp
8 Attendance points: 4 Luck points plus 8000 xp. You must attend at least 7 out of 8 sessions to get the luck points.
Over 8 points- 1 luck point for each full point above 8- no rounding up, to a maximum of 8 luck points.
A Luck Point can be used to re-roll any single dice roll but that new result must be taken. The re-roll cannot be a 1-4 or 90-100, the worst it can be is a 5 or 89. Up to 3 luck points may be used per session. You cannot use a luck point to re-roll a critical failure (a 1 or a 100).
Luck points must be used before the next attendance summary, in other words, before 8 sessions have passed.
Attending only 4 out of 8 sessions (50%) will result in a warning. 2 50% or lower attendance warnings in a one year period will result in removal from the game, no group vote. Less than 4 out of 8 during one attendance period may result in immediate removal, pending a group vote. Attending only 5 out of 8 sessions (63%) twice in one year will result in a warning. One more 8 week period within that year with 5 or less will result in removal, group vote.
If you are not there the character will earn at maximum 1/4 xp. The person playing your character will earn 1/4 xp. (example Joe plays Zolo, his character, and Bobo, John’s character. Zolo gets his own xp, plus 1/4 of Bobo’s xp. Bobo gets 1/4 xp because John was not there.) The GM may pick any character to play another if none is specified… No person can play more than 2 PC’s in one night. The GM is the ultimate decider as to who plays whom. As of the game on 6/20/15, if Caminata, our designated backup player, plays the character the person will receive 1/2 xp, as long as the regular player provides detailed instructions to Caminata at least 2 days before game.
